Blake Michaels
President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Michaels is an accomplished and successful sales and marketing executive with over 30 years of experience in the ophthalmic device industry. He was most recently Vice President of Sales and Customer Service Operations at VisionCare. Prior to that, Blake held the position of Director of Key Accounts for Alcon Laboratories (Novartis), where he was on the original launch team commercializing the LenSx femtosecond laser for cataract surgery. He has also been a Regional Director of Sales for Alcon in the refractive division, coming over in the acquisition of WaveLight in late 2007, where he was VP, Sales and Marketing for the US subsidiary. Prior to WaveLight/Alcon, Mr. Michaels was the Director of Marketing for Bausch and Lomb’s US cataract business, where he led the global launch of the SofPort AO advanced optic IOL and the EasyLoad injector system. Mr. Michaels was also part of the original launch team for the first scanning spot, tracking excimer designed by Autonomous Technologies. Before that, Mr. Michaels was a long time employee of Storz Instrument Company, where he served in many capacities in the commercial organization.

Mr. Michaels received his BA in Biology from Colgate University and his MBA in Marketing Management from the City University of New York/Baruch College.

Eli Aharoni
Vice President, Research & Development and General Manager

Eli Aharoni has been with VisionCare since its formation and is responsible for the Company’s operations at its Petah Tikva, Israel facility. He has over 30 years of experience leading research and development programs, and a strong background in program management and mechanical engineering. Mr. Aharoni also has over a decade of experience in the Class III medical devices industry. Prior to joining VisionCare, his extensive background includes being Commander of a large research and development center in the Israeli military industry.

Mr. Aharoni holds a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.

Boris Aradovsky
Vice President, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs

Boris Aradovsky joined VisionCare in 2004 and holds more than 30 years of senior management experience in engineering, regulatory, and quality activities for Class II and Class III multinational medical device companies. He has successfully directed 510(k) submissions and product approvals in numerous countries including the US, EU, Canada, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Israel. He has also led successful FDA (PMA) and CE MDD/ISO inspections. Before joining VisionCare, Mr. Aradovsky was Vice President of QA/Regulatory Affairs at Card Guard Scientific Corporation from 2001 – 2004. Prior to 2001, he held positions as Vice President Engineering/QA and Vice President QA/International Regulatory Affairs at Sunlight Medical.

Mr. Aradovsky earned his M.Sc. degree in Electronics and Electronic Devices from the Lvov Poly Technical Institute, Ukraine.

Yona Katz
Vice President, Manufacturing

Yona Katz joined VisionCare in 1998 and has more than 30 years of experience in engineering, operations, and manufacturing. In addition, Mr. Katz has over 10 years of expertise in Class III medical devices. He leads VisionCare’s manufacturing technology, process development, and implementation. Prior to joining VisionCare, Mr. Katz managed large-scale projects and served in various executive positions in the Israeli military industry and was most recently Head of Operations.

Mr. Katz holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Ben Gurion University, Israel.

Reena Mishra
Senior Director, Marketing

Reena Mishra joined VisionCare in 2011 with over 11 years of line marketing experience in medical device companies in both high growth and development stages. She currently leads VisionCare’s global marketing, practice development and CentraSight® Access case management programs. Prior to joining VisionCare, Ms. Mishra held various marketing positions with Pivot Medical, Spinal Modulation and ArthroCare Corporation.

Ms. Mishra holds an MBA from Santa Clara University, a MA in Kinesiology from San Jose State University, and a BA in Kinesiology from Occidental College.

Richard P. Powers
Executive Vice President

Richard Powers, Executive Vice President since 2010, has more than 30 years of successful finance and general management experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device fields. Prior to joining VisionCare, he was President and CEO of Aspire Medical. From 2001 to 2008, Mr. Powers was Vice President and CFO of Anesiva. He was Executive Vice President and President of European Operations at CardioGenesis from 1996 to 2001. Prior to CardioGenesis, Mr. Powers was Senior Vice President at Roche and Senior Vice President and CFO at Syntex, an NYSE listed pharmaceutical company with revenues of $2.5 billion, which was acquired by Roche.

Mr. Powers has served on the boards of a number of private and public companies. He currently serves on the board of Cardica, Inc., a NASDAQ listed medical device company. He holds an MBA from University of Rochester in NY and a B.S. in Accounting from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY.

Doron Raz
Vice President, Finance and Administration

Doron Raz joined VisionCare in 2000 and has more than 15 years of experience in financial positions. He leads VisionCare’s finance, accounting, human resources, and administration activities. Prior to joining VisionCare, Mr. Raz was Controller in a high-tech company. He also was a Senior Auditor at the accounting firm of Hillman, Preisler, Eliav and Company in Tel-Aviv and was responsible for a wide range of clients.

Mr. Raz is a Certified Public Accountant. He holds an L.L.M degree (Master of Laws) from Bar-Ilan University and a B.A. degree in Business Administration and Accounting from The College of Management In Tel-Aviv.
